Notre Dame Academy, Choodasandra, Bangalore

Notre Dame Academy, Choodasandra was born on June 8, 2005 at a simple prayer service, in the presence of the parish priest, Sr. Jaya, the assistant Provincial, the sisters and a motley crowd of friends and local people, gathered around the statue of Our Lady.

Sr. Manisha was appointed the founding principal of the budding Notre Dame Academy which had just three students to start a journey most uncertain in the service of education in an area untouched by good schools. Hats off to the faithfilled Sisters, Staff and trusting parents of the fledgling years. NDA Choodasandra soon made giant strides towards excellence since its humble beginnings in accordance with its motto ‘TRUTH and UNIVERSAL LOVE’.

With the growing number of students, for better organization, discipline and healthy competition the House System was introduced in the school. The three houses of the present are: Elting, Lisette and Julie named after significant persons of Notre Dame history.

At present there are about five hundred students, three sisters, eighteen teaching staff and six maintenance staff. The majority of the students are Catholics.

Sr. Jayanti and the Sisters of Notre Dame, teachers, students from Sophia, parents and well wishers were present on this auspicious occasion.
