A Memorable Day of Our First Profession
It was indeed day of gratitude and celebration. We, the newly professed Sisters- Srs. M. Neha Masih (Bangalore), Sushmita, Esha, Shibani, Reshma (Bangalore), Selma (Bangalore), Pooja, Evangeline, Neha Madhuri, Bibiyani, and Sukmani (Bangalore) – would like to share with you the memorable day of our First Profession on May 24, 2025.
We were prepared for this day through many opportunities. The retreat before the profession was a unique and sacred experience, guiding us in our preparation to say “Yes” to Jesus.
“In faithful love, God has called us anew, to a special consecration. We place all our trust in God.”
The theme of our profession was: Here I am, Lord, I come to do your will.”
The solemn ceremony began at 11:00 a.m. with a reverent entrance procession gracefully led by our first- year novices, Sisters, and the Priests. The Holy Mass was officiated by Fr. Shajumon SJ, the Provincial of Darjeeling Jesuit Province.
After a meaningful and inspiring homily, the profession ceremony began. The Profession of vows was the heart of the celebration. We walked forward two by two and solemnly professed our vows.
We were filled with joy and gratitude as we received the ring, a symbol of our religious consecration, from Sr. M. Alice, Provincial Superior of the Assumption province, Patna, and Sr.M. Chetana, Provincial Superior of the Visitation Province, Bangalore, who accepted us as members of the Notre Dame family.
We are deeply grateful to all the formators who have been our guiding stars, helping us reach this sacred milestone. We also sincerely thank all our sisters, whose prayerful support we have always experienced and cherished.
Following the Holy Mass, we had the cake cutting, photo session, and melodious wishing song. The first year Novices joyfully led us to the refectory with their rhythmic dance. We were privileged to be surrounded by many sisters and priests, whose encouraging and gracious presence made this day even more memorable and joyful for all of us.
