Notre Dame School Vijayanagar Mysore

Mysore Notre Dame was begun on 25 June 1990 at Hinkal with four children, K.M. Kushallapa, Santosh, Pradeep and Sophie. Srs. M. Jaya, Jayashree, Shanti and Jaisheela, the pioneers of the new school rented a house with two rooms at Hinkal to accommodate the classes.

The official inauguration was on 12 July 1990 by Vice Chancellor D.V. Urs.of Mysore University. Rev. Roy, Bishop of Mysore blessed the school. The strength of the L.K.G. was 39. Soon the numbers grew to 144.

The little ones were trained, molded and nourished spiritually in the spirit of Mother Julie by the untiring pioneers. On 2 June 1996 the school moved into the present building which is located at Vijayanagar IVth Stage. Before long the school obtained the the necessary permissions from the state and got affiliated to ICSE, New Delhi. The first batch of 15 students appeared for the CISCE Board Examination in March, 2002. After the founding principal Sr. Shanti, Sr. Mercy and now Sr. Regina steer the wheels of progress of Notre Dame School Mysore to greater heights of success and progress. Akash Sharma of 2011 batch bagging an unprecedented 95% , the highest in all Mysore schools, is a brilliant example of the glory of the school.

At present there are 31 staff members and about 600 students. The school is spread over a sprawling campus of 8 acres with a fabulous play ground, courts for basket ball, volley ball, throw ball, foot ball etc. The excellent Science labs, Computer Lab, Library, Activity Room, school brass band and other facilities and the ambience of serene natural beauty of the campus make the school a marvelous learning place.
