Message from Sister Mary Chetana, SND, the Provincial Superior of the Sisters of Notre Dame, Visitation Province, Bangalore

We have a legacy that is 170 years old and the Sisters of Notre Dame continue to create a legacy by incarnating the love of our good and provident God in our world. Our charismatic gift to the Church and to the world is a deep experience of God’s goodness and provident care which permeates in our way of being and serving in the world.
Sisters of Notre Dame are engaged in various services making a difference in the field of Education, Social Service, Women Empowerment Programmes, Pastoral Ministries and Justice Peace and Integrity of creation activities. Our Superior General Sister Mary Kristin, SND says, “As service oriented apostolic religious, our contribution will be characterized by innovative actions which will meet the needs of our brothers and sisters in these changing times.”
We are going through a tragic situationtoday. Each one of us and the entire world is affected by the coronavirus pandemic; our families, our communities, oureconomy and our entire way of life are adversely affected. The global pandemic Covid-19 shows that we are not separate from one another, even though we are living apart. We all have the responsibility to exercise compassion and lend a helping hand to the needy. We pray and look ahead with hope for better and brighter days.
May 31st is a special day for the Sisters of Notre Dame in Bangalore whose Province is named after Our Lady of the Visitation. The feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary is an event of Mary’s visit to her cousin Elizabeth. The meeting of these two women was a joyful and unique event. Mary teaches us to be joyful bearers of Christ to the world.
On the feast of the Our Lady of the Visitation,I am pleased to announce the new features added to our SND Bangalore website – https://www.sndbangalore.org. This platform gives easy access to the websites of all our institutions and SND connections at the global level. The YouTube video clips recorded in different languages give brief History about the Sisters of Notre Dame and the ministries that the Sisters are doing in the Visitation Province.
We pray thatthrough the Spirit, Charism and the varied ministries of the Sisters of Notre Dame worldwide, many more people may know the goodness and provident care of God.
