Virtual Province Gathering
The exciting days for all the Sisters in the Visitation Province were November 28th and 29th as we had the first virtual province gathering in the history of the province. Under the able guidance of Sr. M. Chetana the provincial superior and the councilors, we were able to meet the Sisters virtually and share the joy of living together as a family. This province gathering was organized to share the gist of the general conference held from Oct 1st to 21st. There were 2 major topics of today- ‘FratelliTutti’ and National Education Policy discussed. Fr.Joseph Royan, the Redemptorist, shared his reflections from various angles on FratelliTutti. Fr.Rohan De Almeida, an eminent educationist threw light upon the various nuances of National Education Policy. On 28th November we began with prayer lead by Sr. M. Kripa. Sr. M. Sreeja, the Assistant General greeted us and conveyed her best wishes. After which Fr. Joseph Royan, enlightened us with a few reflections on FratelliTutti The encyclical calls for more human fraternity and solidarity. Sr. M. Manisha, the Education Coordinator presented the report of the ministry of the education in a nutshell. She congratulated all the school management who during this pandemic plunged into virtual classrooms effectively. On the next day at the outset Sr. M. Kristin, the Superior General, addressed us and appreciated us for all that we are doing for the cause of JPIC and for the congregation. Then Sr. M. Chetana presented the PPT on General Conference. Sr. Sreeja clarified our doubts, and she also appreciated us for being a liberating presence among the people. She asked us to have a long range vision for the mission. After the short break we had sharing from every community based on the questions given by Sr. M. Chetana. We were glad to hear how every community has gone green during pandemic by doing various activities. After the final remarks Sr. M. Chetana concluded the gathering with the hymn to Mary.
